All of our staff has dedicated their careers to the treatment of infants and children. We provide the highest quality pediatric care to your child through our specialty training, pediatric experience and personal interests in the care of children.
Bruce Blyth, MBChB, MD, FRACS, FRCS(C), FAAP
Bruce Blyth, MD received his medical training in New Zealand, Australia, and the United States. After completing his residency in those countries, he did his fellowship training in pediatric urology at The Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston. His urology board certifications have been awarded by the Colleges of Surgeons in Austalia and Canada. Having practiced pediatric urology since 1988, with three years at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, he moved to Denver in 1992. He has five sons and a daughter.
Peter D. Furness lll, MD, FAAP, FACS
Peter D.Furness III, MD received his medical training in Philadelphia at Thomas Jefferson University followed by a two year general surgery internship and a four year urology residency at Pennsylvania State University in Hershey. He continued his specialty urology training in Chicago by completing Pediatric Urology and Renal Transplant Fellowship in 1999 from Northwestern University Medical School/Children’s Memorial Hospital. Dr. Furness is board certified by the American Board of Urology. He has been practicing Pediatric Urology in Denver since 1999. Prior to joining RMPU in September 2007, he served as an Associate Professor of Urology at The Children’s Hospital of Denver. Dr. Furness enjoys mountain biking and skiing with his four sons.
Job K Chacko, MD
Job K. Chacko, MD received his medical training at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and completed his urology residency at the University of Colorado in Denver. After this he continued his training and completed a fellowship in pediatric urology at the A.I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware. He is board certified by the American Board of Urology with subspecialty certification in pediatric urology. Dr. Chacko enjoys spending time with his wife and their three young children.
Sarah Langan, PA-C
Sarah Langan, PA-C, received a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience from Lehigh University and her Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Philadelphia University.
Deborah Steinke, RN, BSN
Deborah Steinke, RN, BSN received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Regis University in Denver, Colorado. She worked at The Children’s Hospital in for 17 years. She served as the Clinical Coordinator on the Neurotrauma Rehab Unit and Team Leader/Clinical Nurse IV in the Day Surgery department. She has extensive experience caring for a variety of perioperative patients and has a special interest in pediatric urology. She joined Rocky Mountain Pediatric Urology in January 2008.
Kelly Thompson, RN, CNOR, RNFA
Kelly Thompson, RN, CNOR, RNFA graduated from nursing school in 1999 and soon therafter began a career in surgery with an emphasis in pediatric surgery. Prior to joining Rocky Mountain Pediatric Urology in October 2007, she was the Pediatric Surgery Clinical Coordinator at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs. Kelly completed special courses and is a Registered Nurse Assist to Dr. Bruce Blyth. She has a daughter who attends college and teenage identical twin boys.
Lindsay Weiss, PA-C
Lindsay Weiss, PA-C, received her Master of Science degree from the University of Colorado CHA/PA program in 2007. Working with children has always been a passion of hers and prior to joining RMPU in 2008 she worked in general pediatrics. Lindsay specializes in working with children, and their families, who are having dysfunctional elimination issues of both bowel and bladder in addition to being Dr. Furness’s surgical assistant. Outside of work she stays busy raising her 3 daughters and loves being active and outdoors as much as possible.
